A former Jet Mechanic on EA-18 Growler Super Hornets in the U.S. Navy, Kevin’s career has been forged by precision, discipline, and a relentless commitment to excellence. Since joining Atlas in 2022, he has recruited more than 250 employees, ensuring the company remains a magnet for top-tier talent across infrastructure and environmental services. But Kevin doesn’t just fill positions; he opens doors, clears pathways, and ensures opportunities reach those who might not otherwise know about them.
The Foundation of Leadership
Kevin’s philosophy on leadership and accountability was instilled early, thanks to his father, a U.S. Naval Academy graduate. He still carries a lesson his father often repeated:
“There are only three acceptable responses: ‘Yes sir/ma’am,’ ‘No sir/ma’am,’ and ‘I don’t know sir/ma’am, but I will find out.”
This simple but powerful mindset has shaped Kevin’s career, reinforcing his commitment to adaptability, problem-solving, and trust-building. It’s also why he’s recognized at Atlas for his ability to work independently, manage high-pressure tasks, and support the growth and development of those around him.
Beyond the Hire: Championing Opportunity and Access
Kevin’s impact extends far beyond job offers and onboarding paperwork. His work is deeply personal because, for many, it’s the difference between opportunity and exclusion.
He recalls a defining moment at a Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) career fair when a student hesitated to consider a career in the industry:
“After we talked, they said, ‘I didn’t know I could fit in here.’ That hit me. A lot of talented people don’t pursue careers in certain industries because they don’t see someone like them in the room.”
That’s why Kevin is committed to what he does. He’s expanding the vision of what’s possible. Whether through his roles at Atlas, veteran outreach, or partnerships with colleges and universities, Kevin creates opportunities for qualified individuals to grow and succeed. At the same time, he is driving efficiency, strengthening leadership, and leading initiatives that bridge gaps between talent and industry needs, making the workforce more accessible.
The Blueprint for Success
If Kevin could pick only one piece of advice to offer young professionals, it would be this, which may seem deceptively simple: “What’s easy to do is easy not to do.”
Success isn’t about grand gestures — it’s about consistency. It’s about following up, being on time, keeping your word, and paying attention to the details others overlook.
“If you want to stand out, be the person who does the simple things consistently and does them well.”
And, as he puts it, don’t be afraid to “Copy, Cheat, Steal.” Not dishonestly but by learning from the best. “See what works for successful people, copy their habits, steal their mindset, and cheat the system by working smarter than everyone else.”
